The beginning
It started with a Dutch song and a late night under the stars — and we haven't really stopped talking since.
Somewhere along the way
A small Jimny, packed three times past sensible, the power giving up somewhere along the way — that's where we knew, whatever the challenge, we'd take it on together.
March 2026
Three hours of nervous wandering, a proposal video that failed to record, and a ring that nearly got lost along the way — the question was the easy part.
The Weekend
A three-day wedding — come for the whole thing, or just the main event.
From 17:00 · Lapa fire pit
Roll in, drop your bags, grab a drink. We're firing up the coals — boerewors, salads, stories under the stars. Casual all the way — plakkies and shorts are perfect.
Ceremony 16:00 · Reception to follow
Outdoor ceremony at the bushveld chapel, drinks & canapés on the deck, then long-table dinner and dancing until the bushbabies tell us to stop.
09:00 – 11:30 · Main lodge
A slow Sunday breakfast — eggs, bacon, French toast, mimosas, and one last coffee together before everyone hits the road. Come in your comfies.

Accommodation
Already sorted on our side. Luniky have set rooms aside for the wedding party — chalets and family units across the property.
We're handling the booking as one party, so just rock up at reception on arrival, settle in, and pay us directly. No reservations to make on your side.

Venue & Location
Bushveld setting roughly 3 hours from Johannesburg — tar most of the way, with the last stretch on gravel. Sedan-friendly in dry weather. Closest airport is OR Tambo (JNB); hire a car there.
We'll send the exact gate code, arrival window and travel pack with your RSVP confirmation.

For the wedding day: long dresses, jumpsuits, suits or chinos with a blazer. Earthy tones welcome — think cream, sage, terracotta, soft brown. Evenings can cool down, bring a shawl or a layer.
One important thing — skip stilettos. The ceremony is on grass and there's gravel between venues. Block heels, wedges or smart flats are perfect.
Friday's braai: properly casual, whatever feels good around a fire.
Sunday's breakfast: come in your comfies.

Yes — the whole weekend is adult-only. We adore your little ones, but we want everyone (you included) to be fully present, have a glass in hand, and let loose. Please arrange care for the kiddos at home.
Our wedding is strictly by name on the guest list — no plus-ones, sorry. The lodge has limited space and we wanted every single seat to be someone we know and love. If your invite lists a partner by name, they'll find themselves on the list when they RSVP.
We're going unplugged for the ceremony itself — phones away, please, our photographer will catch every angle. After the I-do's it's open season. We'll share a photo upload link with you in your confirmation.
Signal is patchy. Wifi works in the main lodge. Consider it a gift — three days off the feed.
Tell us on the RSVP form and we'll brief the kitchen. Vegetarian, halaal, gluten-free, allergies — all sorted, we just need to know by 30 September.
30 September 2026. The lodge needs final numbers six weeks out — we'd love yours sooner if you know.
